RPS 8m Boom Gate Skid for Mobile Traffic Control

The RPS 8m boom gate skid is a mobile traffic control solution designed to support approximately up to 60 Watts of continuous power draw with an effective redundancy of up to six (6) days on batteries alone. The skids are designed to handle the harsh Australian environment and are low maintenance. Our clients typically utilise this skid for traffic control for light and heavy vehicles into quarries, mining, industrial and construction sites.

This solution utilises one (1) high-efficiency 400 Watt solar panel, which can be rotated to any orientation to allow for the boom gate to be deployed in any orientation. It also utilises one (1) or two (2) Came Gard 8 boom gates which can be remotely triggered by a vehicle-mounted switch or handheld remote control. The Gard 8 boom gate skid features a sealed waterproof battery box that houses the batteries and control panel.

The boom gate is designed with a radio receiver so that it can be signalled by an approaching vehicle.

It also has an ultrasonic sensor that senses a passing vehicle underneath the boom and holds the boom up until the vehicle passes. The ultrasonic sensor will stop the boom gate from closing on a vehicle if it senses a vehicle by restarting the timer for close time. The Ultrasonic sensor allows for a safe operation of the boom gate, making it not close on vehicles. The user can also signal the boom gate to come down by a second press of the gate button.
